Ethos

A hand-drawn page: a dozen small squares scattered across the top, joined by long curving lines that cross over one another until no square is more central than any other. Beneath it, hand-lettered in heavy capitals, EVERYTHING IS DEEPLY INTERTWINGLED, and under that two short typed paragraphs arguing that there are no separate subjects, only all knowledge, and that hypertext at last offers a way to explore it without carving it up.
Ted Nelson, Computer Lib / Dream Machines, 1974.
